Electric Light Orchestra’s Jeff Lynne has thanked fans for their support after he pulled out of last night’s BST Hyde Park gig due to illness.

Organizers of London's annual BST Hyde Park concert series have canceled the event's final day on Sunday (July 13) after Jeff Lynne's ELO withdrew due to medical reasons. On Saturday (July 12), organizers announced that Lynne - whose performance was set to be his final live show - would not appear as planned.

BST Hyde Park has cancelled the final day of its festival after Lynne, 77, withdrew from the band's headline slot at the last minute due to health concerns. He had been due to front the rock band on Sunday, but stepped back on the advice of his doctors following a "systemic infection", according to a statement released by ELO.
