KUALA LUMPUR, June 26 (Xinhua) -- The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Thursday welcomed a ceasefire between Israel and Iran and urged the countries involved to avoid further escalation.

The agreement involves all 10 member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and five of its major trading partners－China, Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand.
