The Baltimore Orioles took Ike Irish 19th overall in the 2025 MLB Draft, giving Auburn baseball a first-round draftee for the first time since 2020.
This weekend won't be Ike Irish's first MLB Draft experience, as the first time he went through the process cemented his commitment to Auburn baseball.
"I don't think he's going to stop hitting," Auburn HC Butch Thompson said of Orioles first-round pick Ike Irish. "It's the most competitive at-bat that I have seen in my coaching career."
The draft, which begins Sunday, (5 p.m. CT, ESPN) should see Ike Irish 's name called within the first 30 picks. The catcher-turned-outfielder is considered as one of the best college hitters in this year's class, and it has positioned him for an early selection.
